Pavel Town sits at the heart of a vast realm. Hidden in the Misty Forest wander the Nomads of the Ninja and Elven.

The Official Guide to Missions in Pavel
The Legend: Twenty-two legendary heroes gather at Pavel's tavern, each with unique abilities and soul affinities. King Antony has announced a grand competition - a series of Missions where heroes prove their worth through trials of Power, Speed, Brain, Charisma, and Willpower. Only one can claim the throne of Glory!
๐ฎ GAME SETUP
1. Choose the number of players (2-10 heroes)
2. Each player enters their name and selects a hero
3. Set the Quest Length (number of Rounds)
4. The game begins with Player 1 as the first Reader
๐ฏ OBJECTIVE
Accumulate the highest Glory score by completing challenges. The hero with the most Glory when all rounds are complete wins! In case of a tie, the hero with more remaining stat points wins.
๐ HERO STATS
Each hero has 5 stats displayed as POW/SPD/BRN/CHA/WIL:
โข POW (Power) - Physical strength challenges
โข SPD (Speed) - Agility and quickness challenges
โข BRN (Brain) - Intelligence and wisdom challenges
โข CHA (Charisma) - Social and persuasion challenges
โข WIL (Willpower) - Mental fortitude challenges
Stats are spent to complete challenges. They do not regenerate automatically! Only the Alchemist Shop and certain abilities restore stats.
๐ ROUNDS & STAGES
The game is divided into Rounds. Each Round consists of Stages:
โข One Stage = One mission card drawn and resolved
โข Each player becomes Reader once per Round (rotating clockwise)
โข A Round ends when the original first Reader becomes Reader again
โข Example: 4 players = 4 stages per round (one per Reader)
๐ค THE READER
Each stage has a Reader who:
โข Draws and reads the mission card aloud
โข Clicks "Roll Fate" to determine difficulty
โข Knows the secret target number (other players do not!)
โข Does NOT participate in challenges during their turn
โข CAN be targeted by abilities (Shadow Control, Arcane Alliance, etc.)
๐ฒ FATE DICE & DIFFICULTY
When the Reader rolls the Fate Dice:
โข Roll 1-3 = EASY - Lower target, worth 1 Glory
โข Roll 4-6 = HARD - Higher target, worth 2 Glory
โข The exact target is: Base + (difficulty modifier) + random variance
โข Only the Reader sees the target - challengers must guess!
โ๏ธ CHALLENGER OPTIONS
When it's your turn as Challenger (starting from player to Reader's left), you have three choices:
1. ATTEMPT THE CHALLENGE
โข Choose how many stat points to spend (using the required stat)
โข Your total = Points spent + Affinity bonus (if applicable)
โข WIN (meet or exceed target):
- Gain Glory (1 for Easy / 2 for Hard)
- Get back 2 of your spent points
- Stage ends, next Reader begins
โข FAIL (below target):
- Lose ALL spent points
- Challenge passes to next player
2. MEDITATE (PASS)
โข Skip the challenge without spending points
โข You have exactly 3 Meditations for the entire game
โข Meditations do NOT regenerate (except at Alchemist Shop: +1)
โข Challenge passes to next player
โข If ALL players meditate, the stage ends with no winner
3. CHALLENGE A FRIEND
โข Challenge another player (not the Reader) to a duel
โข The Initiator (you) gets +3 Courage Bonus automatically
โข Both players secretly invest points, then reveal simultaneously
โข BOTH WIN: Both gain Glory for the challenge
โข ONE WINS: Winner gains +1 bonus Glory on top of challenge Glory
โข BOTH FAIL: No Glory awarded to either
โข After resolution, a new card is drawn and remaining players may attempt
โข The two duelists cannot participate in this follow-up challenge
๐ค GROUP MISSIONS
Special missions marked with ๐ค require teamwork from ALL heroes:
โข Reader draws the card and rolls difficulty (does not contribute)
โข Each non-Reader player votes YES (participate) or NO (sit out)
โข YES voters contribute points; NO voters contribute nothing
โข All contributions are combined (including affinity bonuses)
โข SUCCESS: All YES voters gain Glory (+2 Easy / +4 Hard) and counts as a WIN for abilities
โข FAILURE: You can ๐ฒ Gamble (dice +1 to +6 added to total) for a last-ditch save! If gamble fails too, all YES voters lose -3 to ALL five stats
โข NO voters: No reward, no penalty, and does NOT affect ability streaks
Note: Group missions require 3+ players and are disabled in 2-player games
โจ SOUL-TYPE AFFINITY
Each hero has a secret Soul-Type (shown only in their character info):
โข Soul-Types: Dark, Tech, Stone, Crowd, Magic, Shadow, Sky, Tavern, Silent, Undead
โข Each challenge card has an Affinity tag
โข If your Soul-Type matches the challenge's Affinity: +3 automatic bonus
โข This bonus applies to ALL challenge types (regular, friend, group)
โข Soul-Types are secret - don't reveal yours to other players!
๐งช THE ALCHEMIST SHOP
Periodically, the mysterious Alchemist appears to restore your weary heroes:
โข Each player receives 10 Soul Points to distribute
โข Spend points to restore any stat (maximum +5 per stat)
โข You also regain +1 Meditation
โข Shop appears at the START of specific rounds
Shop Timing Formula (P = number of players):
โข 1st Shop: Round P + 3
โข 2nd Shop: 1st + (P + 4)
โข 3rd Shop: 2nd + (P + 5)
โข Pattern continues: interval increases by 1 each shop
Example with 4 players:
โข 1st Shop: Round 7 (4+3)
โข 2nd Shop: Round 15 (7+8)
โข 3rd Shop: Round 24 (15+9)

Each hero has a unique passive ability. Here are all 20:

Force any player to use one of their Meditations. Limited uses based on party size (2p=1, 3p=2, 4+p=3). Resets at each shop.
๐ค Friendly AI - System Override
Once per game, reset ALL your stats back to your starting values (POW:6 SPD:5 BRN:6 CHA:2 WIL:6). Cannot be recharged.
Use ANY stat for a challenge instead of the required one. Recharges when you win a Friend Challenge.
๐ช Thug Dwarf - Brute Force
Gain +3 POW permanently every time you win any challenge. Always active.
๐ญ Babbler Rogue - Crowd Favorite
Gain +1 bonus Glory for every 3 challenges you complete. Always active, tracks automatically.

Guess how many stat points to steal from any player. If they have enough, you get it! If not, the spell FAILS and ability is wasted. Recharges after 3 wins (any type: regular, friend, or group).

Bet on another player (not the Reader) failing their challenge. If they fail: steal +1 stat. If they win: you lose -1 stat. Usable each stage.

๐บ Drunken Paladin - Liquid Courage
Once per stage, roll a dice. On 5-6: instantly WIN (counts as a full win for all abilities). On 1-4: must attempt normally. Resets each stage.

When meditating, choose any stat to restore +4 points instead of just passing. Always active.
๐ง Lover Zombie - Cursed Embrace
When you win, ALL other players lose -2 from a stat you choose, and you gain +1 to that stat. Always active.

Mixed into the mission deck are 50 Tavern Cards โ special action cards that add strategy and chaos!
How Tavern Cards Work:
โข When the Reader draws a Tavern Card instead of a mission, they keep it and draw again
โข Multiple tavern cards can be drawn in a row
โข Cards are kept in your hand and can be played on your turn as Challenger

โข Save Meditations: Don't waste them on easy challenges - save for when stats are low.
โข Challenge a Friend Wisely: The +3 Courage Bonus makes initiating advantageous. Use it when you're confident.
โข Group Mission Risk: Failing costs -3 to ALL stats! Only vote YES if the team can make it.
โข Shop Timing: Know when shops appear and ration your stats accordingly.
โข Watch Opponents: Track who has used their abilities and meditations.
โข Ability Synergy: Some heroes combo well - Witch can steal stats that Dragon needs, Ninja can profit from others' failures.
